About the Founder

Research Grounded in Evidence

Dr. Pratap C. Mohanty is an Professor, Founder & Director of AHEAD Lab in the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences at IIT Roorkee, leading the AHEAD Lab's research on the economics of healthcare and development. His work examines health system responsiveness, health insurance coverage, and equity of access across India's diverse population.

His research has covered maternal healthcare efficiency, the implementation challenges of PM-JAY, and healthcare access among vulnerable populations, published in leading peer-reviewed journals and presented at major conferences worldwide.

What We Do

Research and Analysis

Comprehensive studies on a wide range of topics, including health system responsiveness, pharma, gender disparities in health, elderly health, maternal health, nutrition, coverage of health insurance, IT, and its impact on health, comorbidity, and polymorbidity.
